Crescendo

Bony trees have grown new sprouts
amid interwoven branches
fir needles breathe in my lungs
acorns roll in my stomach
in heart’s cells young willow sheaves
sweep hidden feelings

It snows heavier
a forest inside me wriggles its hands
I’m afraid to light the fire
cherry trees near my temples
might bloom again
