the law of the lid

all of them are striving and straining
all of them are writhing like fishing worms in a jar
and I still wonder why
all of them try hard to bite one more morsel
from the good ones who died young
from the too good who died very old
from me the one still lively
depending on the sun and moon errands

the more I look closely the more I see clearly
beyond clouds and imagined rainbows
beyond the supersonic flight or the anti-gravitational force
beyond the white weapons and the red crosses
the more they think that it is exactly me head over heels
while they are are only striving hard
like turbines through my living blood

all of us slaves belonging to two masters
slaves for the seen and the unseen
slaves for concessional cemetery plots
unlike the earth that can be stolen or bought
and can be lost
that is too heavy
and silent

Odissey Fragment

I mounted on a ship
my eyes tied in a storm
unseen by others

life turned around
made me bump accidentally
into porcelain statues
arabesque fancy works
carrying filigree thoughts
afraid of being broken

memories brushwood whined
it was a frosty day
fir branches were ruffling
my heart’s crust was too thin
I tore soft crumbs for the blind men

the past dug in my temple
a marathon of never-ending moments
over phreatic water beds
winding long threads of silk dreams
on mast cables

I was waiting for shores
to come back

Just Another Vision

(another dream of Joan of Arc)

It is for you that I reached out
a thin thread of sweet pea
under a tall fir

because everything has its purpose
you hastened to sniff me
stealing the dew from flowers’ grapes

a beast over my blood
in times of prayers and fasting

rows of warriors bent their knees
crossing their javelins upon bucklers
you wandering crusader
with entangled beard
cut my long locks
tied me to the pillar
until I became icon
my relics locked in gold

I watch you from an empty coffin
a man with a raisin heart
starving louse
for centuries

End of a Story

When I was a child The Snow Queen
stole my friend’s heart
placed in his chest an ice needle

Then I trod for a long a time
on fairy tale pathways
crushing my knees upon stones
weaving shirts from nettle threads
kissing an ugly frog
climbing mountains on stairs
dug with my own nails
crawling in the desert among snakes …
everything just to find my friend
to see the red roses in my home garden
bloom again

But I failed
and my dream vanished
Snow White and her mother became as one
Cinderella lost her shoe for eternity
„once upon a time” became „never”

Then I opened my eyes and said to myself
thanks God for giving me this sinless soul
to be able to fly free
on my heart’s open sky

From above tears dropped
as an answer
it was light again
